The domain of the Kalawana Pradeshiya Sabha is consisting of 263.84 square kilo meters and is located in the boundary of Sinharaja World Heritage in the Meda Paththu and Uda Paththu of the Kukulu Koralaya in Rathnapura District in Sabaragamuwa province which is blessed with the blessings of God Sri Sumana Saman. A total population of 53151 consisting of different ratio ethnic groups is scattered in the whole domain covering 33 Grama Niladhari Divisions. The main economic activities of the mass in this area are tea plantation industry and gem business. There are several government institutions and government schools in this Pradeshiya Sabha. Accordingly, per day, a large number of people travel to the main city to get fulfilled their basic needs.

My desire is to work with my utmost dedication for the welfare of the community by focusing on all types of development streams in order to create a prosperous country state through proper management of all the provisions received under different government funds for the development of economic, social, cultural, educational and spiritual sectors of the total community that live in the domain of the Kalawana Pradeshiya Sabha which is represented by the Uda Paththu and Meda Paththu of the Kukulu Koralaya and to provide diligent and efficient services for the mass by establishing the Pradeshiya Sabha as an institution that renders its services productively and effectively by using information technology and communication in our Sabha with the aim of entering into the rapidly developing world today. I wish the all the members of the community a prosperous future.

Our main objective is to provide an effective, efficient and systematic services to the community as a local government institution that is being operated within the domain of the Kalawana Pradeshiya Sabha. Commencemnt of an information system by working in with the modern technology can be shown as an example. I firmly belive that through this programme the employees canbe made more effective and attractive services.

Mission Statement
The Mission of the Kalawana Pradeshiya Sabha is to accomplish the health and public ancillary services and construct, develop and maintain the public roads and work towards the welfare of the community by securing and developing the facilities owned by the community through formalization and proper maintenance of the institutional system of the Pradeshiya Sabha.
